Okay, we talked about this one last year after Carlisle. The only LT4 automatic in existence. It even made it into Corvette Fever last month. We all know the car appears to have an LT4, or at least the heads and intake. We also know it is an auto. We all talked about how GM wouldn't do this because they would have to pay for EPA recertification on another engine trans combo. Last year, I posted that I noticed the EGR valve on the car. We all (should) know real LT4's don't have one, due to the overlap in the camshaft. Well, this year, I also noticed the eighth digit of the VIN is........guess what?.......it's a P. We all know the eighth digit of the vin is a P on LT1 cars, and a 4 on LT4 cars. What's next year, we look at the wear on the dash screws where they put the 8000 rpm tach in? This is my personal opinion, and I believe I have a right to that. Don't "flame" me or act all stupid, as I probably won't even read this post again. For those of you who believe this car is what it claims to be, I have some magic beans for sale......
Thank you for listening.
Hey, I know it's not real, you know it's not real, call "em" on it. I hate it when people pull crap like that. I saw and heard this guy telling everyone at the track about his ZR-1 badged L-98 being a real ZR-1. I think he ran a 14.10, didn't even come back to the pit. He just headed out the gate.

Would you take your ZR1 to the pits if it ran 14.10. :hat I am sure it was bs.
Doesn't the EPA require that all powertrains be certified to be legal for sale in the US ?
I guess the real amazing part is the idea that the original owner had it built that way by his buddies at the plant. (according to the article) Who has that kind of power? not an assembly guy I am betting. besides how do you roll it past the inspectors?
guess anything is possible with the right kind of cash, but i guess we will never know....... ;)
This car was at Carlisle this year again. When I saw it on Friday nobody was around and the hood was closed. The windows are tinted too dark to see inside. I, too, noted the VIN, but I didn't think to take a picture of it. I did, however, take a picture of the sign they had on the dash bragging about what a "real collector" (or some such verbage) it is.
It's a complete hoax. I bet the tach doesn't go up to 7k, and all the EGR stuff is still on. If it isn't, then I'll bet they changed a few things, but I'd say that most of us on here could spend about 5 mins and easily tell that is isn't a real LT4.
Well, as evidenced by Blue 92's pic and the fact that they were in one of the mags and they go to a lot of shows indicates that they aren't shy about this car.
Next time someone catches it with the hood up start snapping photos like mad! Also, if anyone can get a face-to-face with the owners it'd help clear up a lot of this.
Like I said, when I saw the car at Carlisle on Friday it was closed up tight and there wasn't a soul around.
