A friend of mine purchased a 93 40th Anniversary vette about 2 months ago. He has just started having problems with his keyless remote. Last night His car wouldn't start and there was a clicking sound in the dash by the fusebox. I checked it out and after I put the key in the ignition a couple of times the clicking nosie stopped and the car would start right up. After walking away from the car the doors would lock and the clicking nosie would start again and the remote would not unlock the doors automatically. I would have to go through the same senerio to get the car to start. I went ahead and shut off the keyless entry per the instructions in the owners manual until I can get some help from the forum. A couple of days ago he put a new battery in his remote because it wouldn't unlock/lock the doors automatically.
Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem???
I'm guessing to first start at the car's battery and it's ground connections.
Ensure the connections are tight and clean (15Nm). Check all grounds.
Make sure the battery is up to par, a slightly weak battery will cause all kinds of problems. There are a series of relays along the knee pad. That's probably what you heard clicking. Insufficient battery power may be causing this.

I agree with the battery connections for i had the same problem. You may also want to check the striker button on the drivers side door and see if it is sticking. If it is I can give you a short way to lube it up.
