I've got the 40 series (the loud ones), and the resonance is starting to get annoying sometimes (especially to the girls that ride with me). The sound outside the car is AMAZING... so I definitely recommend them. You might want to do like I do and carry a couple of pillows in the back to obsorb some of that resonance though :D.

So Nathan...
How's the inside sound? I'm interested but not if I can't hear the stereo at a reasonable level. Can't stand headaches after a two hour ride, either! What's your opinion of the inside sound?
Thanks

I have the Flowmaster system and I don't think they are loud at all. I have an automatic coupe and don't EVER experience any resonance. What gives? Did they sell me a bad set or something? They are a little noisier since I put in the 383 but still pretty quiet. Of course everyone has their own opinion of how loud something is.....

Inside is pretty loud. You can drown it with music, but again that has to be pretty loud. The best you can do to adjust for that would be gear selection. I've found that if you keep the RPM's above 2000 it's not too bad, however cruising at 70 in 6th put you below 2000 and it can get loud. You notice the drone when your foot is on the gas, but as soon as you let off it's gone.

So far it doesn't bother me too much, I might try some dynamat at some point and see if that helps any.

What really suprises me is that a friend has the same mufflers on a Camaro and it doesn't make a sound inside the car. The only thing is that his is a single exhaust going into two mufflers rather than a dual like mine. What about the center resonator? Anybody know the results of straight pipes, an x or h pipe? Seems like that would make it louder.

I tried the dynomat route, but it wouldn't be worth it if you pay full price for that stuff. I got it at discount at work (60% off). It helped a little, but not a lot by any means. The pillows in the back help the most.

I_Hate_mustangs... do you still have your stock resonator in? or an H-pipe or X-pipe? I have the resonator removed and an H-pipe installed, so both of those contribute to my very loud resonance.

I did drive my car with nothing on after the cats once... wow.. now THAT is some LOUD exhaust.

The kit I have came with a new resonator and I installed it.

Now for the other aspect of flowmasters, can anyone verify how they are for performance? I was told by someone that they are more restricting then our stock systems. I have either the FM-40 3 or 2 chambers.
