Crap! Help!
Ok so im leaving my girlfriends house about 10 minutes ago, and i get off post, turning right onto the highway, and decide to open my car up to get the wind blowin through my freshly shaved head. I get up to what seemed like right at 70, and it felt like my car just DIED! so I pull over, and put it in park. gave it a little gas, sounded really bad and sluggish, and if i got too high, it would just cut off, car wouldnt die because i would quickly let off the gas. so i drove home goin 30 mph with my flashers on, and of course i get passed by about 3 mustangs, an STI, and a freakin prowler for christ sakes. but forget that part, anybody have any ideas??? the check engine light DID come on about 5 minutes after that happened. PLEASE HELP ME!

It sounds like you went home in limp home mode! You'll need to pull some codes to see where something went wrong!

Slowly rev it towards 5K. If it stumbles, it's probably the pump. I drove mine for years thinking it had a rev limiter at 4000, it was the pump. It also couldn't keep up with the motor anytime it was sloshing with less than 5 gallons in the tank. Now, that's not a problem.

i just stumbled on this. i am not sure if you car came "equipped" with a maf sensor. if so, i'd unplug it to see if it ran better. if it did and it does, maf is bad.......disregard this if yours not equipped!........someone correct me; did a 90 have a maf?
