Default More Bloomington Gold Auction Notes

In the 90s here with a stiff breeze. Lots of folks (mostly C5s) parked in the Forum golf course area.
I wasn't here for much of the auction today but here are a few:
A 1962 Sebring Racer that was built by Zora for Delmo Johnson was bid up to $900,000 but did not sell due the reserve of (get this) ONE AND ONE HALF MILLION DOLLAHS!
A red 91 ZR-1 with lower miles and in excellent shape sold for $37,500.
A Grand Sport with red interior, 1,800 miles and reportedly the only one ever signed by Zora Duntov sold for $62,000!
There is a nice GS for sale on the Gold Mine lot that is the same car as above with moderate miles asking $34,000. No takers yet.
I met up with Steve's 40th, Oldvettefan, No Wife and Triumph GT6. We are all going on the Gold Tour this afternoon and Big Fish's backyard BBQ afterward.
Lots of pics that I will post when I get home Sunday/Monday.

Money is relative...99% of the world considers that anyone who can afford a V-8 two seater has money by definition...

.

Yep the GS in the Gold mine is nice, but the Woodgrain kit might take away from a collector buying it..

there is also a nice 1992 Quasar Blue ZR1 with 1104miles for 37K

If I were int he market I would take the ZR1 first over that particular GS

My dad and I had realized that we would've had to stay another night in Illinois to go to Big Fish's BBQ, so we left for home at about 3:30 - 4:00. Surpisingly a lot of people on the roads for a Saturday afternoon, and I had never driven in traffic like this before.

Conclusion:
I absolutely hate Chicago traffic, and even though BG was nice, I don't expect to make another trip in the Vette (The Lincoln is so much more comfy on a trip).

If the folks read the brochure that they mailed to those that bought tickets to park on the golf course then they would have not tried to enter through the cow pasture. They could have come in off of Krautz(spelling?) Road on the West side of the resort and driven on the paved golf cart tracks to get back to the Forum parking area. Here are some pics of the (mostly C5) Corvettes on the golf course:
