Best bet is either a ZR-1, Grand Sport or LT-4 convertible. Callaway probably should be on the list too but proceed with extreme caution if considering one. I have been to many auctions and for whatever reason serious Callaway buyers seem to be few and far between and actual selling prices are always in the lower than expected range. ZR-1's are often a bargain in my humble opinion. Many were bought new by speculators for 20K to 50K over sticker and socked away hoping for double digit value increase which never materialized. I was at the Bloomington auction last year when a red on red 91 with 18 original miles still under the manufacturers statement of origin (meaning buyer would be first registered owner) and protective shipping plastic still covering the seats sold for $35,000. Excellent cars with a few miles are starting to appear under 20.

Accurate and True.

Pristine ones always bring good $. It's the ones that have traded hands often or that have sketchy histories that don't bring the $.

That car at Bloomington is not the norm.
Disagree totally Good ZR-1s are not under 20k
I have been offered 32k and I have under 20k miles.
Common color Rough ZR-1s are soft - the market is good for the right ZR-1s, LT-4 convertibles and GS - a car has to stand on its own merit

Okay. In 1994 they produced a color called Copper Metallic
They only made 116--91 Coupes, 24 Verts, 1 ZR1
So, if you can wrestle the ZR1 from GMs hands, you'll have a really rare car.

A hard to find color combination. I belong to the largest Corevtte club in my state and at our annual Corvette show there are usually four or five Grand Sports there. So far I've only seen one with a red interior - a coupe owned by a friend of mine in the club (and not likely to sell any time soon, I might add.) According to him, there were not many produced in that red interior/GS exterior combination and a GS covertible in that color combination would be rare indeed.
I love the '85 too, thats why I bought one. Mine is extremely rare cause its painted Quasar Metallic Blue which is a later C4 color. I'd say yellow is probably one of the rarest '85 colors cause i've only seen one.

Yes "RED GUTS" are few and far between. It would probably take you a year to find a GS Convertible with "Red Guts"

I know the color well. While I don't hate it, it would not be my first pick.
Rare colors are cool but you have to like them.
