My original battery in my '96 LT-1 finally died. It's a Delco Freedom, 75B-72. I can't find one around town anyplace. Does anyone know of a site online where I can obtain a replacement? Thanks Guys!!
Not a plug for Sears, but I would buy the best Diehard that will fit. You shouldn't have to worry about originiality for a couple of battery changes, and there are a lot of batteries out there equal to the performance of the Delco, at less bucks.

Try K-Mart.
That's where I found my Delco replacement battery about 20 months ago for about $70. Chevy wanted $94+tax. I tried getting more info from the Delco Battery web site, but they did not list the exact "Delco Freedom" battery model 671 with the black and silver label. Only the Delco with the blue label (I forget the name but its not "Freedom"). Also, the "eye" is on the wrong side, making it difficult to see. I don't think Delco has made the exact OEM models for a long time.
They dont make it anymore. The replacement is identical in size but has a higher cca rating. I just replaced mine. The part number the dealer gave me was 19001627 @ $73.48 plus tax.
Thanks for everyone's help. I tried my local NAPA but they didn't have the battery. I also tried all the local parts stores with no success. However, today I checked with a local garage and they could get me the battery from their warehouse. Since they don't produce the Freedom anymore, the replacement is called a Professional. It's exactly the same (except the eye being on the wrong side). Anyway, it's a 7yr battery with 725 CCA, so I think that'll do it. The price was $113 but I don't guess I can complain....I was about to think I couldn't find one at all. Thanks guys!
I replaced the Delco in my '94 this spring, I went to a chevy parts counter and just asked for the replacement. Its not an exact match.....the little green sight window is in a different place.

I agree with jlbruggeman. Get a Diehard Gold or Silver from Sears. Their batteries are pretty strong. The warranties are good too. If spending over $120 is not a big deal, and if you wish to have a battery that lasts a long time, look into the Optima Spira-cell. You can find them on the forum in the vendor section. They come highly recommended by many forum members for durability and longivity. Good luck.

Re: Need Battery -- Help!! (CoolVette86)
Some replacement batteries have terminals on the top and side. There is a steel brace that runs really close to the top terminals, thus requiring a modification in order not to cause a short to the positive terminal. When it comes to batteries, my advice is to buy what fits correctly or you run the risk of a fire caused by a short to ground from the positive terminal. This is not something to fool with!
