Hey all. Well I decided to give my car some hell after babying it for the 4 months I've owned it. So its a 1993 6-speed. Mods are only Ram-air and muffler elims. The car has 106K on the clock. Results:

Run 1: Keep in mind I am still learning how to launch the car. So I gave ALOT of clutch. 60'- 2.9 1/4- 14.7 @100MPH

Run 2: Not as much clutch this time....but still not a good start at all. 60'- 2.5 1/4- 14.3 @101.7 MPH

Run 3: I finally said screw it. Held it at 1500 RPM and dropped the clutch. This made me spin a bit but gave me the best time. I also spun the tires 2nd AND chirped 3rd The car felt like an animal even though the time didn't show
60'-2.29 1/4- 13.9 @103.6 MPH

I know the car is much more capeable of better times. That 60' could definetly go down to a 2.0 or maybe even a 1.9. Which would be low 13's (I think). Also my trap speed is almost 104MPH....so that say's alot. I have to assume this is pretty good for a basically stock LT1 M6with 106K on the clock. What do you guys think?

If I threw some drag radials on the back how would the dana 44 hold up to a launch at 2000? That would definetly cut my 60' down but would it hurt anything?

Thanks
Jared

I'll tell you right now from experience. Don't use drag radials with a stock clutch, you will fry it.
Also, no need to dump the clutch. I launch right off idle and get 1.95 60' and very low 13's.

Check this video out, me vs Panuzzo in the finals at SLP Day a few years ago. I don't dump the clutch, no tire spin, maybe a slight slip of the clutch, but nothing to get worried about.

I'll be at E-Town 7/29, come find ,e and I'll hook you up with some more pointers.

I have gotten a high 1.9 with street tires but not consistently. Slipping the clutch to avoid wheelspin gave good launches but wore out my clutch quickly. With 106K on the car your clutch won't last long if you try hot launches while slipping the clutch.

Solution, just engage the clutch normally at 11 or 1200 and go from there. With practice you can get consistent 60 ft and Et doing that, maybe 13.6 or 13.7 in good air. Otherwise you'll be spending lots of money for a clutch soon.
