The other night my girlfriend and I went to a sporting good store. The car was running great and everything was working. We come back outside and she goes "what is wrong with your headlight?" So I go look and low and behold my driver side headlight is flipped 70% over. So I go turn on the lights and the drivers side flips the rest of the way over and works but the passenger does nothing. The both light up but the drivers side will only reverse 70% back wards and the passenger side will do nothing.
anyone have any idea what could have caused this? or how to fix?
GM used a gel material to spline the cam shaft to the motor worm gear. The gel dries up and crystalizes. It's worthless then. The repair is to open the motor up, remove the crystalized gel material, replace with Delrin bushings and grease the motor worm gear and reassemble.
One can go and then the other may follow a few months or years down the road. It's all dependent on how soon the gel crystalizes.
