locking storage compartments
Hi all
Still learning and experiencing my first vette, and having a great time doing so! Do many of you use your locking storage compartments and/or locking side console? I drive mostly with the top down and thought it would be nice to lock a few items when leaving the vehicle in a parking lot,however the locks on the storage bins and the console dont seem to work. The door key fits fine, but doesn't lock.
Anyone else have this problem? Am I missing something?

I have a convertible and when i leave the top down at places i always lock my radar and misc other things up. I have found it quite useful i would take a look and see if u can fix them. might check and see if something is blocking the lock.

Could be someone needed new door locks and got new keys.
My '95, the console and hatch compartment lock with the door key, but my '93, neither lock. Even when I swapped out teh interiors, I made sure to swap the locks, but they don't work, I figure since I'm the 7th or 8th owner and the car was butchered up, the locks must have been changed at one time.

The door key will lock/unlock the center console and rear storage compartment in my '94. I do occasionally lock stuff up in them if I'm leaving the car unattended with the top down.

Those of us with PKE(93 and up) very rarely have a need for the door key.
