I just got a replacement panel for my breadloaf yesterday and I must say that I'm a bit disappointed in the quality of the part. The edges are very rough, there were scuffs on the front, and the vent hole was cut crooked and thankfully too small. I can probably make this look ok and it's not really worth the wait to get another one of the same quality. What I got was worth maybe $20-$30, not almost $60. Has anyone out there put in one of these, and what kind of shape was the part in when you got it? Was a lot of fabrication required? Is my part the exception or the rule? Should I try to get another part from the supplier before I try to make this one work? Just looking for opinions. Thanks in advance.
I did the same - covered it with leather. When I got the car it had a cheesy plasti-wood replacement - see below
recovered it in black leather and it looks great - can't find any pic though
We've also striped away the rest of the plasti-wood and got back to the stock black dash and console. Not sure, but I think there might be more leather covering happening over the winter.
Mine was in great condition when I got mine. I believe I got it from Ecklers. I did not use the two way tape or the flex hose they sent. I cut my original flex and drilled holes and used black screws to match the rest of the dash. It looks like Great white used screws also.
I like the looks!
