i took my '84 in to the local dodge dealership. they have a really sweet copper viper in the showroom, asking $88,000. they would give me $10K as trade in and with another $10K my wife would give me for a down payment my payments would only be $1524.89/month including tax for the next 5 years. hmmm...couldn't quite talk the wife into that one. oh well, guess i will have to wait another year or 2.

$1500.00 a month for a Dodge Fast car and they look cool but there is no way I'd lay out that kind of cash for one. You could buy a nice used viper for less than 40k
Your wife's got an extra $10k laying around?
I think we need ideas from your friends here as to what to do with that chunk o' change.
Anybody?
that money comes from her quarterly bonuses. her 4 bonuses every year usually add up to around $10K, and she lets me use that money for my "toys"... as long as i do the dishes , keep the laundry caught up, and keep the kids in line while she is outta town on business....i think it's a fair trade.
They'd give you $10k in trade for an 84 vette???
Ask them if they'd do the same on a deal for a Stratus
the '84 has had a lot of work done to it the past 3 months. the motor was pulled and re-sealed, full tune-up, new steering pump and hoses, new hub assemblies, shocks, brakes, tires, exhaust, carpet, dash cluster bulbs, headlight relays and motors, a new tranny, and last but not least...paint job. it's not a bad car, really.

LOL that's more then twice my house payment, this is why I stick with used cars, I can get more for my dollar with it, still, it's always fun looking, I have a buddy who keeps looking at new mustang GT's and I keep telling him to keep his daily driver and get an older car that is well kept and avoid the whole debt thing altogether.
