Before I get to the subject I would like to thank everyone who has answered my questions in the past, anyway on my 84 side mirrors the glass is becoming loose, ecklers has a trunion that they say fixes this problem and hopefully it is the problem. How do you get the glass away from the old trunion in order to fix this problem ? THANKS ! scott
I had the same problem and the after replacing the trunion I found the motor mount was loose. I used some loctite and remove the whole assemble on each side and fixed it for good. If you need the complete instructions please just PM me with an email address.

My '88 had both mirror glasses rattling every time I shut a door. I was able to stop it by tightening the small phillips screw(s) you can see inside the housing behind the glass when they're adjusted all the way up.
Thanks for all of your input, I found the trunions are fine the problem is that the lower clips on the back of the mirror housing that hold the mirror to the trunions are broken, so I'm not sure what to do at this point. so I think I am going to have to find some new glass for this problem.

Order new trunions. 34177 $3.99 from Ecklers. "The trunion snaps onto the back of the glass which in turn mounts to a black plastic pivot."
