Well changed the spark plugs today used platinum NGK TR55's took me
3.5Hrs from start to finish ..wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I had to disconnect airtube on driver's side and loosen up the ASR bracket. also removed the wire loom holder that bolts to the driver's side head that made it easy once all was out I thought the last one by the firewall on the passenger side was the hardest as far as getting the new plug started..I made sure and put anti-sieze on the new plugs and gapped them to .050
I went into this job with alot of patience and beer it paid off car started right up when done......
I know you guys like my work light
Seriously, tho, do you have a wall outlet on your firewall for the lamp?? Talk about "engine mods"...
Those plugs are/can be measured at, what do you think? At least a couple look like .75 or more. I'll bet it started right up!!!!! Probably said something like, THANKS, IT'S ABOUT TIME!

Looks good, guy.
Yes I just got one of the plugs from the trash and the .080 almost slid into it..plugs look like they were originals maybe I am wrong? would the factory put them in with that wide of a gap???
Personally I can't believe anyone on these forums would ever consider using those plugs again. I mean when did the **** fall off??? 20K, 30K God only knows the answer.
Save yourself the worry and just use conventional plugs, they've worked for decades. Now all of a sudden we need two electrodes, pucks, springs or whatever other gimmick the manufactures can come up with.

Most likely the platium puck is missing from the underside of the ground strap. That's the down side of those AC plugs.
If you remove the center inner fender panel (five 10mm bolts/side, plus two 7mm bolts on the passenger side), use extensions of various sizes, use a universal for the plugs that aren't a straight in shot, and use a sparkplug ratchet, the job only takes about an hour
Thanks guys, tomorrow I am gonna flush the power steering fluid with the turkey baster, and drain the antifreeze and start changing the radiator hoses and thermostat...(also still waiting on my heater hoses from Ecklers)
then in a couple of days will do fuel filter...then after all that "Brakes"
It took me about that long when I changed out my plugs. Yours were in dire need by the looks of them. In the future you might look towards Superior Chevrolet 1-800-728-8267 for your hoses, belts etc. Ask for Chris May, and tell him your a member of the forum and you'll get a discount.
