my vette is a 94 lt1 car it has started to have a miss around 5700 rpms the car is a automatic with 80k miles on it, is this a opti problem or do i need wires and plugs or just maybe plugs. the car runs very strong up to this but it does sound like it has a little lifter tick at idle could this be a plug not firing. thanks for the help

Hmm, could be one or several things in combo. What's been done to the car regarding repair/replacement of parts? Is/are any codes coming up? How do the gauges look, all operating at regular temps?

If you've done nothing for 80K miles, it could be all the things you mentioned plus more.

i just bought the car and it runs good operating temp is fine and car runs very strong up to 5700 rpms, the car had a blown head gasket at one time before i bought it. i guess the best way to start is to pull the plugs and start there

I bought a 92 LT1. It had a miss in it. I had the opti-spark, plugs and plug wires replaced and that cleared it up.

i am going to do every thing short of opti and maybe that will fix it if it needs a opti it will get a water pump, radiator and hose and it will be down most of the winter, that may not be that bad of a deal

The lifter tick might just be the sound of your injectors firing. They make a little noise like that.

the saturn i had made the lifter tick/ injector sound very dishearting when you buy a new car and here that, i think i am going to try plugs and wires first
