I noticed yesterday that my drivers side rear wheel makes a very faint squeaking noise at slow speeds. With each revolution I hear a little squeak at a certain point. When I speed up the noise disappears. Is this something that can be fixed with a little wd40? There is no vibration or anything else. Just a little squeak each revolution at slow speeds. Thanks.
this sounds like the same problem I am having right now. However, mine isn't so much a "faint squeak" but rather a groaning/almost grinding squeak. But it does vary with rotation like you say, and at 30mph and up you really can't hear it.
From everything I've been reading, it sounds like it may be in the U-joints.
Mine is noticeably worse during the first 10-15 minutes of driving after it's been sitting all night, or at work all day, and then by the time I get where I'm going and it's "warmed up" I don't hear the squeak anymore.....
maybe some others will agree with the U-Joint theory or maybe it's something else.....
Yes, sounds like U-joints. But by this time tomorrow, I will be able to verify and confirm the repair of the squeaking/scraping/metal pieces breaking/clunking problem I've been having the past 2-3 days, and I will also have more information than God about Corvette U-Joints. I'll post results tomorrow.
