I have been having a weird sound coming from my car. It sounds like a very soft whistle. The pitch/tone escalates when I get on the throttle and descalates when braking. It also seems to match the transmission, i.e. it will slightly jump when upshifting or downshifting. Kind of weird. Never had this problem ever on my '94 (over 10 years of ownership).
is this coming from the '94 or a different vette? it could be the difference between the L98 and Lt1. I have an L98 and I can say there is definatly a lot of whistling
it could also be the difference between a4 and m6..dunno whats up. If its the '94 I hope somone can ring in, because I wouldnt have a clue
sorry and good luck to you. It can be tiring finding those noises..
Sometimes I get something nearly identical to what you are describing, but not all of the time... I wouldn't mind hearing some potential reasons as well... (Mine is a 95 LT1 6spd)
sounds like a vacuum leak to me, can you hear it with the hood open and if so a 2 ft piece of heater hose up to your ear always helped me pin point noises.
I don't think I can hear it standing outside with the hood open. It is only inside the car. At first I thought it was coming from the air conditioning but then I noticed it matched the tach on the car, i.e. the tone gets louder as the throttle is engaged. By the way, it is a '94 LT-1.
is it coming from your speakers? if so, it could be electrical problem with alternator...When it starts, check your gauges and see if you are getting too much charge. Also when you turn your lights on does gauge take an extreme turn towards the negative side?
