Tachometer

Do the local parts store carry replacement Tach filters? My tach doesn't read correctly and is way off. I tried an aftermarket tach but it doesn't work at all. (rather use orginal anyway). The aftermarket I tried is the small Sunpro, I use the HEI High output coil/cap combo if that means anything. TIA

that was quick, they offer two the orginal $62 and a replacement $29. Rather pay the $29, should work ok with the digital dash right?

Where is the tach filter anyway?

Guys mine is on the blink too. I tryed to find the original under the hood but no luck. Ive been told that if the original filter fails in a certian way that adding the replacement filters your going to find no tach again.
So does anybody know where it is?

Mine is also bad ('91-L98) and when I called Eckler's they told me they no longer carried / made tach filters for my year and engine. Going to the site the search comes up empty...
