I have removed the rear boxes and replaced with polished tips, I also removed the main cat and gutted it.
Soo i was expecting a lovely V8 rumble.....nope.
Don't get me wrong, it's nice....just well..no different, which surprised me.
I heard a posting recently on here (night clip) that was just how i want mine to sound.
I haven't looked around the front cats yet, so just wondered what to expect etc..
(sorry, it's a 1990 L98)

L98s and LT1s seem to have different sounds probably due to the true duals and larger pipe on the LT1s. To make an LT1 sound good, all you need is a set of Flowmasters. To make an L98 sound good, you need headers and a custom dual exhaust with a crossover pipe. At least that's my take on it.
If you've got any underlying EGR issues that you don't know about.....
When you remove the pre-cats, you're going to find them quick. When I did mine, I got an instant light/code 32. It was easier for me to just put them back on vs. trying to nail down the EGR problem. The pre-cats are a lot more restrictive than people think. Take them off, and you're going to get a lot more noise out of the exhaust.
I had an exhaust shop cut them out and replace with pipe. It did add to the rumble.
I have since switched to full length headers, which really increased my rumble.
