My glove compartment door won't open even tho' its unlocked.
I've tried locking and re-unlocking, to no avail. It appears to be the left side of the squeezed pair. I am about to break something to get it open and am hoping someone out there knows of an easier way in.
I've been prying the lid up and jamming a long screwdriver into the latch mech but it still won't open. I'm thinking that mayhaps something within the latch broke and ended up between the pieces that have to be squeezed together to release the latch, preventing them from being able to be fully squeezed. I hate the idea of breaking it, cuz it'll probably take a while to get the necessary replacement parts. And who knows what will break?
My driver door wont open....handle/lock mechanism came unhooked inside door. If I cant work it open from inside *I'm gonna have to cut a hole in door panel then replace it......That would suck!!!!
Well the lid mounts to the bucket of the glove box with 5 7mm bolts across the inside back. Removing the vent will get you nowhere.
It's a dual wedge lock.
I would just keep fooling with it especially pressing down to see if you can get it to just release the pressure on the lock. Maybe it might open up.
Otherwise your looking at tearing the lid off. Might be tough to find a replacement. But you may get lucky. I think I'd ensure I have one lined up before I tear it open.
