Default 87 door sill

Bear with me here. There is a soft vinyl piece on top of the door sill, mine is split. Is this part of the sill , how is it removed, do you take the sill out. Can you buy just this piece, thanks in advance, Jim.

Hope someone can help you Jim. I had the outside vinyl pieces and the whole strip around the door done on both doors on my 87 but it was done professionally so I don't know all what's involved.

I replaced my sill pads a couple of years ago. I think I got them from MAM; they weren't in the catalog at the time, but I inquired and they got them for me. The pad has two studs that go through holes in the sill and are fixed with nuts from below. Removing the sill without incident requires removing the halo panel above, and to get the halo panel out there is more that needs to be moved (So I tried to get one sill out without removing the halo panel and I snapped the sill . Plumber's PVC glue is now holding it together.) BTW, this will be a good time to clean and re-dye your sills.
