Default Notch inside the console

Does anyone know what the notch inside the C-4 (1996) console is for?
I see places which I guess could hold cassette tapes, but this is next to the deep pocket which would hold the owners manual.

I read it is another hidden storage area that people havent noticed until years later! Take a pic of it if you can because I'm curious on what it looks like!

I use it for my phone and what ever, I don't have a deep pouch in mind, err wait i do in the center console, but it is narrow, also under the door arm rest, keep sunglasses, perfume in there and a small hairbrush

From what you're describing it sounds like it might be what holds the handle of the ratchet used to remove the roof panel.

The thing to hold the roof wrench is a clip, I know what he speaks of and it was mentioned the tire gauge goes there. Since neither of my cars came with the tire gauge I can't answer that. If someone has their owners manual handy I'm sure the answer is in there.

OK, I checked the owners manual, nothing in there about it.

If it's the little rectangular indention right in front of the console door, right beside the seat control, where a selective ride switch control goes in cars with selective ride control, I've found business cards fit great, or an itty bitty comunication radio to keep in touch with other drivers I caravan with.

I stand corrected I went for a cruise in the Vette today and what do you know the tire pressure guage fits in there perfectly. Since I've had the car I always kept it at the bottom of the deep pocket. Originally I thought he was talking about the clip thingy I never noticed the rectangular notch.
