The interior shifter plate on my 94 has a rubberized coating that is peeling. I replaced it once with a part from Corvette Central. It did the same thing. I was told that this is a manufaturer defect and that nobody makes a replacement part yet with the problem corrected.
Anybody have an idea?
Somebody had a fix for this in the last year or so, but I don't rmember what it was or how they did it exactly. Have you done a search?
Seems like they used that rubber coating stuff that you dip the handles of tools in, thinned down and sprayed on with an air brush. Don't take this as gospel as I really don't completely remember.
