Put seafoam in vacum line the other day to clean the carbon off of my engine and my egr pipe insulation caught on fire, had to shut off car. Did I do any damage and should I replace the insulation on my egr pipe?
Is it hard to replace the insulation ? Do I have to remove the egr pipe and were do I get the special insulation ?
Not hard at all. Its been almost a year since I looked at a L98, tho.
I believe you have to take the tube off.
This is what I would do if you run into trouble taking it the tube off. I would cut the insulation off and go to the local parts store and get some exhaust insulation and exhaust tape and just wrap it up nice and neat.
