I think I'm over the edge now. I'm going to pop over to flameball.com. :D [
LOL glad I could help Scott. Actually I think I am shifting better with the flameball. With the orignal shift head on, the shifter is 1" taller than with the flameball on. The reason I found this out was when I had a coke in the cupholder I couldn't shift to reverse without taking the coke out of the holder. Now with the flameball in I can shift to reverse with it barely clearing the coke. I know this is scientific but it works for me.
Since the stick is now 1" shorter, maybe even 1 1/4" shorter the actual distance I have to push the shifter is shorter. I wish I would have measured the distance but I didn't. With the shorter distance to throw the shifter the faster you can complete your shift. :yesnod: Besides that its cute at night :yesnod:
CowboyNVette, I was looking to buy one of these but the website was showing that it has 1/2X20 insert for mounting, do they custom make them to fit the factory and the Hurst handles?
It looks like they can be modified for auto use, it kicks the price up around $150 though with the C5 shifter and wiring kit. I am still waiting on a few email reply's, maybe there is a cheaper kit out there.
Thanks Mojo, I rechecked the site, I guess they have a basic **** with the smaller threading. They have a FAQ which I didn't check before that has some car models listed (vettes included) and basically says just give them the specs and they'll make em to fit. Now I've just got to pick one out.
Cool pics Cowboy! I saw a vendor at Carlisle that was selling those. He had some prototype ones that he was selling pretty cheap. Now I wish I would have picked on up!
