I had ordered my Flame Ball last August and it finally arrived yesterday, I knew it was gonna take 3 to 4 weeks because the man that answered the phone when I called with my order said he was a little behind. Well to make a long story short, it is really a nice shifter ball. The colors are really nice and its well designed and put together. BTW they make it to the color specs that you want and there are lots of colors to pick from.
Well after looking at it for a couple of hours, I decided to go ahead and install it. Piece of cake. Even hooking up the wiring for the light in the ball was simple. If anyone needs directions to hooking it up let me know and I will email it or even post it here. I think the shifter is a little shorter now because the ball is not as high as the stock shifter which makes for a little shorter throw :yesnod:
After installing I had to drive it around at night so I could see the ball lit up, I love it. Even when I pulled into a convience store for a drink the person next to me when I pulled up noticed it and loved it. If you haven't visited their site its www.flameball.com .
If you were afraid to order one because of the installation, don't worry about that its very easy. It only took me about 30 minutes and I didn't know what I was doing or where I was gonna get power for the light when I started.

Re: Flame Ball Installed!! (CowboyNVette)
Now you've gone and done it - I think I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get one... :yesnod:
Aqua-86 - I can't recall specifics but I do know we have at least one forum member with a flameball on an automatic C5. From my vague recollection, the kit to adapt it was not offered through flameball but through another vendor. Try posting in the C5 section maybe - I think the post where I read about this was too long ago for a search to work (at least one month ago).
If you take off the center console cover, you will find 3 wires marked accessory. The black one being the ground and the purple one works off of the key. There is also and orange wire there but it is hot all the time. You almost don't have to use the wire harness that comes with the flame ball, the wire for the light almost reaches the power source.
If you need me to take some pictures of it this evening let me know
I saw one of these last year on a Camaro. They are way too cool. I have looked on the Forum for the post on the auto install with no luck. Please post any info for us auto guy's if you have any.
Go to the Flameball website and look for the section to ask questions. It says that they will answer all questions with a day or two by email. I'm not sure what they have for autos but I tell you they look awesome at night lit up :yesnod: I think I am gonna order me a couple more just to change when my moods change  BTW the wire for the lights are hidden very well by the shift boot. I didn't even have to try and tape it to the shifter to try and hide it.
I read about Flame ***** a couple of months ago when my brother linked me to their site. I think there awesome and had decided i'd get one if I would up with a manual but I got an Automatic so I think i'm just going to settle with a carbon fiber shift ****, I figure it will go good with my grey/black interior. I bet it is awesome at night!
I'll make a pic of mine when I get home, I did get a couple of pics last night with no lighting except the flameball. I will post them later this evening....

Cool.
I've thought about a flameball for a long time. You might just push me over the edge!

Cool, I'll give it a shot this weekend, shouldn't be a problem. I ran a wire all the way to the dash hoping to find something "Keyed" to hook it to, but I will try your way and see what happens.
