Help Needed
Alright I have a couple problems. ('88 convertible)
1. My 3rd brake light won't light up... how do I get to it to check the light bulb?
2. My new chrome wheels seem to be darker and I can't seem to lightin them up with cleaners... any tips? ideas? I feel it could be different chrome dip... but what do I know I'm just a kid
3. My reverse Lights don't light up! I can get them out, they seem ok, am I looking at a bad ground, or fuse? I went thru the fuse panel on the p/s and they seemed good.
4. Rack and pinion seems to have a leak on the p/s rod.... Would a seal kit fix this? If so How hard is it to do? or would it just be easier to put in a new one?
5. Turned on the A/C and a LOUD clunking from I believe the compressor? It's a N A S T Y noise... when I fired it up for my dad to hear he said it sounded like I messed the motor up pretty good... I turned the aa/c off and it went away. Any Ideas?

Reverse light not working could be the activation switch at the shifter or on the transmission I believe it is a roller type switch that turns lights on when in Reverse. Also a manual sounds like it would/could make your life easier. Good luck.

Try Lucas power steering fluid in your system. Gordon Killebrew says it will soften your seals and sometimes stop the leaks.
