Fire Suppression Systems
Thanks for any feedback.
Halotron is the 'replacement'. It functions in much the same way, but has a lower CFC content or something (I'm obviously not a chemical engineer). Still leaves no residue and evaporates upon release.
All of the fire supression manufacturers are now offering Halotron as essentially a direct replacement for Halon. If you do a search on google for 'halotron', you'll find a ton of info.
As far as systems go, you can do everything from a small handheld unit (I have a 2.5 pound halotron unit in my car) to a full-blown large canister automatic supression system with multiple nozzles mounted in the car.
