The 88 I bought came with the chrome Z06 wheels on it. I like them a lot but there is some damage to them and the rims need to be replaced. Here is my dilemma. Part of me wants to put on sawblades to keep the "original" look even though I think there are better looking wheels. I have even considered some that are not "Corvette" rims. So folks, whats the consensus there? Do your C4's have originals, other generation Corvette wheels or some other AM thats not even Corvette? Help me out here please

Go after the style you like. I just happened to come across a great deal on a set of black c5 wheels so I jumped on it. Different gen corvette wheels and CCW's seem to look the best to me. Few aftermarket rims seem to fit the vette style in my opinion, without costing more than the car that is....
Hey, yeah, having the origionals are a plus when it comes to selling the car and having "origional" on the add. As for me, I would get another set of wheels that satisfy you either C-4 or any other generation rims that you think are cool.
Please take more pic's of the rims and maybe we can do a swap? I have the same car as you-'88 Z51 that is dark red and has 60,000 miles on them from a doctor that kept the car indoors and used it for a weekend warrior.
Hello,
With the exception of the GS and ZR1 wheels, I think all of the c4s benifit from nonstock wheels.

True in cases where Turbines were the Factory spec.
I sorta like the Chrome saw blades though.
The polished/standard finish of the SawBlades is similar style-wise to the Turdbines in my opinion.

Man I really need to take some new pics...
Man do i want your car so bad. I have a black 96 with tint and the rear black out kit but yours looks so much better. I also bought some black Z06 rims for mine but haven't put them on yet. I really need to take a full day to clean and detail mine(lots of chips and faided underside by door pannels)
In spring you can buy my sawblades from me if you still want them. Don't know how much they are going for now a days.
Since we are talking about wheels, i was wondering how much more the chrome ZR1 rims (two 17x9.5" and two 17x11") weigh than the stock 95 sawblades (non-chrome four 17x9.5")???? I was wondering if the weight difference is enough to affect speed. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Putting wheels that originally came on another Corvette, to me, goes against the idea behind "custom wheels".
Perhaps that comes from my younger days when, as new drivers, the best most of us could do was swap hubcaps between cars; some of you may remember the Olds Starfire "spinner" hubcaps, or the Plymouth "cone discs"?
What I wanted more than anything was a set of Keystone or the big-buck American Racing Torque-Thrusts instead of my Baby Moons, Port-a-Walls and black-painted stock steel wheels.
I'm living my old fantasy now, with a set of HRE's made to my specifications (which I think a wheel must be to be truly custom), and think anything less just doesn't quite cut it.
