hood latch problem PLEASE HELP
I am getting very frustated with my vette the hood latch on the drivers side I am guessing the cable came out of the slider thing, and now I can get the hood open. I am hoping someone knows a trick in poppin the latch I have tries stickin stuff down there to get the cable to slide back in to whatever it's called but no luck please help. My vette is broke down no power to the ignition either 1984 vette gggrrr

some have removed the inner wheel well and with than removed can get something like a long handled scredriver to pop the latch...
try searching archives, I remember a post with photos from about 2 years ago...

I had a problem with my latch a while back as well. Somebody before me had wedged a piece of wood up under the cable to increase the tension instead of just adjusting the way you're supposed to. Lani (jet-jock) and I pulled the bottom section of the dash off to find out what was wrong, and while we had it off, used a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the cable, and just pulled on it, and the hood popped right open. We then reset the cable, made the adjustments the right way, and it's worked fine ever since.
just a few screws to take the kneebar section off, and you can get to the cable easily.
