Default Keyless entry and or remote start for 84 C4?

I have an 84 C4 and I was wondering if any one knew of an aftermarket keyless entry or something that could be adapted to fit? I can’t seem to find any of the remote start/key locks mentioned in any catalogs?

As long as the car has electric locks, a keyless entry system should be able to be installed. I have a 1990, and it has an aftermarket Avistart keyless entry & remote start system. Go to any automotive audio store or electronics store and they should be able to help you.

I got one on eBay for my '94. It came with programming instructions (pretty simple) and works fine.

The guy I bought it from sent me this procedure to convince myself that my car could accept a keyless entry system:
* Turn the ignition key to the on position
* Push the TRIP/ODO button 2 times
* Within 5 seconds, push and hold the FUEL/INFO button until you see the PKE light in the Driver's Information Center come on and stay on
*Turn the ignition off, but DO NOT remove the key.

The PKE light should begin flashing. This means the system is awaiting commands from the PKE fob. If the light flashes, you have an operating system.

Regards,
Hal

I will be installing the 1702 keyless entry this winter. I picked it up off ebay for $22, brand new
The bulldog site has some good reference material, wiring diagrams etc.

Is it possible to retrofit electronic locks to an 84? My 84 has manual locks, but I'd love keyless entry.

Default Door Locks

Mine already has the power locks already on it, although the doors need some work, they passenger door only opens from the inside, and the power locks click, but don’t lock anything. Not to mention the key set in the driver’s door is busted. I just got the car and have been at school so I haven’t had time to mess with it, but plan to do so over break. I also haft to do some door seal work, doors and or top, currently leak a little.

Find a good auto alarm company and tell them what you want. My son has a 1985 and they added the power lock feature and offered the remote start, but he didn't need that. They used a Viper alarm system.
