I have a 93 coupe and my check engine light recently came on, and went off in a matter of moments. (It has done this several times)I had the codes read and it came back with the O2 sensor problem. Well the service manual said there are two, The Haynes manual said there's one. I can only find one, it's on the right hand side of the manifold before the cat. Getting to it looks like it will have me muttering some colorful language in no time. Any help would greatly appreciated.
There are two on your 93. One on the left and one on the right. I don't have a 93 so I can't tell you exactly where. The O2 sensor can cause a code for a number of different reasons. By using the Factory Service Manual it should be a breeze.
I just changed the sensors on my 93 and let me tell you unless you have little girly hands it is not a breeze. The left side can be done from underneath but the right side is easier from the top...not much but I was able to get the damn thing out from the top using the free tool kit from autozone. I could not apply the recommended torque so I just got them as tight as I could. It is recommended that you let the car idle for about 2 minutes to warm them up as they are real hard to loosen when cold. I also had a heck of time getting the right side in, just took awhile to find the right angle to get started.
