I had to make a out of town trip tonight so I went to the local parts store this afternoon and bought a pair of silverstar replacements for my stock headlights. WOW what a difference it made.

I think they (SilverStars) they were my first mod also.
I switched to the Silver Stars a year ago and was so impressed with the white light, I installed Silver Star H4's into my FIAT's Cibie Z-Beams. I'll never go back to yellow again.
I read this thread a couple off days ago. Well what do you know, a light goes out tonite. So I head straight to Autozone . I replaced both right there on the spot with the Silverstars. $40. It took about 15min my first time. GET THEM!!

You guys need to be more explicite.
SilverStar's can be sealed beams, or they can be H4 bulbs.
The sealed beams are only a slight improvement over stock halogens....so you must be talking about the H4 bulbs installed in a Bosch/CIBIE/Marchal/Hella reflector....

So true, I went with the Glass cut european replacements from MADVET, and then the silverstar bulbs. I was wondering how everyone was getting silverstars so cheap.

mine are the sealed beams and they are twice as bright as my stock yellow looking halogens. I put in one at a time and compared
I paid 19.95 each for my sealed beam silverstars.
One of my first mods on my 84, the sealed beam units. Really improved things at night. THe switch from yellow incandescent to white really helps, As I remember they were 19.95 each at Autozone, and have performed perfectly for two years now. Probably the smartest money I spent on the vette.
