I would at least let them know that it is misleading so they can fix it and in gratitude they may refung the difference
Unless your talking about that funny technicolor Canadian money then the extra is just the tax we charge all Canadians cause we know you are much too nice to raise a fuss
so i ordered a bunch of stuff from ecklers and the total was 92.00 approx which would put me in the 11.99 shipping range but they charged me 18.00 shipping saying pt roberts, washington 98281(picking up accorss the border) is a "rural" area... it doesn't specify anywhere in their catalog or website that "rural" areas have additional shipping etc.. etc... do you think it is worth calling in and demanding the 11.99 shipping charge?
Crazy - does that mean Blaine is rural too? It would be nice to know what the threshold is on that definition. Have you picked the order up yet? Keen on trying a Pt.Roberts shipping setup next time I order something big, let me know how it goes/went.
I just ordered parts from Ecklers that I wanted for Christmas. (Wife has 2 vettes too.) I ordered online and was told approx 40.00 dollars for shipping in time for Christmas. So I placed the order, The next day I have a E-mail stating that shipping cost will be 180.00. This was more than the price of the parts. I will not have it here on time. I would not have placed the order if they were honest in the first place. I guess that's why they lie.
Blame UPS/FEDEX, etc not Ecklers. They are just using their shipping software and get charged that amount themselves.
I am glad I live 35 mins from Ecklers
Yes and no. UPS and Fed Ex charge by weight, Ecklers(and most catalog companies, charge by value) So that $11.99 in reality may only be $7.99 for shipping.
As far as Ecklers is concerned(and I hope they read this) they can go **** themselves. They ripped me off for shipping charges twice, once on the original shipping and again on the return.
I bought an item that was misrepresented in the catalog. Before I returned it, I called Ecklers and specifically asked if I would get the shipping charges refunded. They said, sure no problem and to include the receipt for the return shipping for that refund as well.
I got a refund for the item only.
I haven't had a chance to really bitch them out yet. I did see Mr Wilson at Carlisle and I was ready to approach him and speak my mind, but I was already late for something, so I decided not to.
I will never order from Ecklers again. This is twice they screwed me in the last 7 years.
