Picture Request - Crossbar
Someone with a crossbar installed, could you send me a picture of it, where it is attached to the car? I'm going to attempt to make one of these for my car.
Thanks
Billy

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'll post a picture of my X-Brace in case that's what you are looking for. If not, well you got one anyway.

R-D Racing make a cross bar that goes across the passenger compartment behind the seats
and an cross brace looks like an x and goes from frame rail to frame rail under the body of the car
and a camber brace that goes in the engine compartment from side to side ( shock tower to shock tower)
here is link to R-D cross bar complete with pics

Yes, thanks! I think this is what I needed to see. However, I'm going to have to see someone's crossbar installed before I move ahead with the project. These are good pictures at the web site but not quite clear enough, probably by design as these things are not complicated or difficult to make.

Mine's better. The one that comes with the crossbar isn't adjustable. But unfortunately I don't have a pic handy.
Take a look at the I/O Port Racing site for pics(actually I think R-D offered the same exact one).

This is a helpful thread.
A few questions:
1. Are both the ASM and R-D cross bars made of tubular or solid steel?
2. Between these two, is one better than the other from a structural standpoint (as opposed to a harness mount) based on design: mounting points, size/guage/shape of material (bar), etc.? Those that have these, how do you perceive the structural improvement?
3. The ASM brace looks like it is designed to provide some level of head protection in the event of a rollover. Is this what those "loops" are for?
I'm interested in increasing overall structural rigigity. It sounds like one can add the cross-bar, undercarriage x-brace, and a camber brace to really stiffen things up. Has anyone done all of these? Are there any other methods?
Thanks!

Mine came from Arizona Speed and Marine. Comes with a camera mount and a fire extinguisher mount and slots for a harness (five point).
