Default 21* Below Zero!!!

It hit 21* below zero here in Richfield, Utah last night . Yep! it is one of those winters. All I get done, is shoveling snow.

I promised folks I would give them a report on my TB coolant bypass/TB icing when it was cold. Or as Vader would put it, "damn cold". But I've been busy doing other thing's, and haven't got the vette running yet. I'm willing to bet with my cold air intake, and TB coolant bypass. I would have an icing problem. I didn't plan on driving the vette in the winter anyway. It's been snowing almost constantly here since the first part of November. I feel for the neighbors (Colorado) they are really getting bombed.

I've been kind of a stranger to the forum as of late. I am building storage cabinets in my garage. There looking pretty good. I figured I need a nice home base for the Vette... I got the natural gas furnace installed a little over a month ago. Just in time I'd say...

I walked outside to deposit some trash in the trash can. I was thinking, "man this is cold" then I felt something cold roll down my pant leg. It fell out by my shoe, so I picked it up, and took it in the house. It was a green ball of ice. I set it on the heat vent to see what would happen, and as it started to melt, I heard a loud FRAAAAAAAP. Yep, you got it. It was a frozen fart...

At that temperature, when it snows, you can pretty much use a broom to "shovel" snow it's so dry.....not to mention....COLD.

Come on up north here a little bit, the bigger valleys and the lake keep us a little warmer, no worse than 10 below so far. I don't ever drive the vette in the snow or ice but in three years I've never had a problem with ice buildup on the TB.

I live in a pretty cold climate and never had that happen to me.

Thats not cold at all. Last week it was -36 celsius for a few days. With the windchill it was -47. Right now its still -27.
If I'm right I think -36 celsius works out to -33 fahrenheit.

We have not had the opportunity to turn off the A/C in the house for several weeks. As a distance runner, running in 80 degree temps is getting impossible, especially at my age.

Guess every part of the country has its problems. (high temps, cold temps, hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes.

Ya sure, you betcha. That sure is cold, I'll say. But that bit about the thawed out far_, now that was so funny. I almost rolled all the way downhill on the hot grass today. Had to go cut it, too.

Welcome back, stranger. Don't forget to show up pics of those cabinets when they're finished. And please: stop eating all those heat-inducing beans for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hehe, I had to throw that in there. You know how I am . Just watched the forcast on TV. They say tonight is supposed to get 23 below, they said, 13 below last night. I've seen 38 below here, way back in 71 or 72. I was in fifth grade. I'm guessing around 30 below tonight. I'll keep you posted... On a side note: This past summer, there was one day that hit 110*. Now that is a temperature swing...

I have to wonder about my 74 camaro sitting outside. I've not checked the freezing point of the coolant for several years. It's not driveable, and just to go out, and open the hood would be nice, and cold. Draining the coolant would almost be impossible, as it is just a lump of snow right now. I can't even tell what color the car is. What a riot, when mother nature decides to do some extreme's. You find out just how fragile you really are...
