Making a corvette look fast....

looking faster than you are is much worse than the other way around. why pretend, why pose? bottom line on the looks dept: the corvette needs NO help. NONE...
To ask "Why pose?", could be reworded to "Why buy a stock L98 in the first place -- especially when other higher HP choices could be yours for the same $$$.
Personally, I don't think anyone can truthfully answer the kid's question. Because cars are such a personal thing. My advice is to do what you want. Don't build a car to impress everyone else. That costs too much and you don't really gain anything in return. People won't swarm to you because you have a "cool car". That's not what's important.
In my case, the final product will state only that I know something about bodywork and enginework. Not tons about either one. But enough to build something custom -- kind of like a piece of art. But my work will never be Picasso. Unless you have thousands of dollars, yours probably won't either. But don't be "afraid" of being expressive. It's silly to worry about what other people think. Are you buying a Corvette just to be part of a "club"?
If so, there are lots of clubs that cost less money. Plus, you could drive a "green" car and save money instead!

Ever since I was a kid, I prefered a plain car that RAN good over one that LOOKED good, but ran like $**t. I hated getting my doors blown in by a "Plain Jane", but I loved the feeling when I won in my "stocker". I despised the "pimp-mobiles" of the '70's and the same with the "hip-hoppers" and "tuners" of today.
It's like a chick with anemia who spends her money at the tanning salon instead of the vitamin store. Spend your money on stuff under the skin, not on it.

Well. Most guys on the road cant tell the difference between a L-98 L-T1 especially a Z-R1. They think its a vette and its automatically fast. If they are asswipes, they think its a old piece of crap. Second, ya never know if theres a poser "Z-R1" beside ya.

I had a classmate (not friend) at school who once said he was going to put tv's in the headrests so people would drive with him.
If MidAmerica is selling them for $79, then they're definitely not HID lights. They could be "like HID" or "HID style" lights, but real HID lights require ballasts, and relays, and bulbs, and usually special lenses. Nothing with "cool blue" look is safe for street driving, one of the reasons it's been outlawed by the DOT. The Extra Vision lights will be your brightest easily accessible light without going into the blue spectrum of light. The PN is H6054XV. If you absolutely need the honda headlight look, then the Sylvania Silverstars are available too, but they burn out fast, are expensive, and though they claim to be white, have blue wavelengths as well.
If you're anemic, buy some iron (or whatever it is) pills at the vitamin store, and not waste your money at a tanning salon.
Still don't get it? OK, how about this?
If your furnace isn't putting out enough heat, buy a new furnace. Don't buy new carpet and drapes.
I appologize to anyone I've offended with my lack of political correctness.
