HYPERTECH Programmer III
Have a chance to buy one used. Whats it worth compaired to its usage. How much can you do with it it and does it work well?
I know you can do fan turn on points.

From what I remember..
Turn fans on at different temp.
Increase timing.
Adjust gauges for different size tires.
Increase shift points.
Shift Firmness.
Remove top speed limiter.
I would get a cable and a program for the laptop if you plan on doing any future modding. It's fairly cheap to have a custom tune written and emailed to you. Plus you have the advantage of datalogging that can save you plenty of money in the long run.
New Laptop $400
Cable $99
Custom Tune $75

Thanks for the update on the data. Been using a laptop for sometime now. Built all the interface boxes and installed my own connectors for easy hookups. Have a couple of free programs to monitor the data. Have not used any programs to make changes or flash the chip.
I also have a Tech1 A which is also a nice tool and was just thinking of adding another programming tool to my collection. Before I go making changes to engine operation, I need to come up to speed so I know more about what I am doing.
