$1000.00 module ???

$1000.00 module ???
Took my 87 to the dealer to adjust my parking brake (they inspected it) they adjusted it now they have the anti-lock light on. Now they say it needs a module to turn off the light as that will allow the abs to work... well they ordered it and mentioned that it cost a thousand dollars (I know I ain't payin nothing) , my question is does that seem right(1000.) It seems I can get a whole brake job for that price or do they want me to feel their pain?

uh, don't go there. I think you might want to make sure it isn't something simple like a bad relay. there was an artical in one of the corvette mags a couple months back. I have not yet found my issue, but it outlines the testing of the relays. they say that most of the issues with ABS are with relays and not the computer.

Sounds fishy to me...get a 2nd and if necessary 3rd opinion... :eek: :cheers:
