Shift question
Since I had the heads redone (new valves, springs etc) and added scorpion 1.6 rooler rockers the engine revs quickly to the shiftpoint at full throttle. Since I have no previous experience with this car when it was running correctly I don't know what the before and after difference is.
The engine is still pulling strong when the automatic trans shifts at full throttle and I was wondering if I should reprogram the shift point of the trans ?
I had read from this site that it is not good to shift manually.
Thanks,
Bob
In some cases manually shifting can cause more stress & wear but not in the case that interests you. After all it matters not if you manually hold the WOT shift point or reprogram the governor.

My trans is a 4L60E.
Are you saying that a manual 1 - 2 upshift is not necessarly bad for the trans ? Just upshift when I feel no more pull from the engine ? The tach seens very hard to read in the upper range and I question its accuracy.
