Just received a complete carpet set from Willcox (forum member). I will be installing this carpeting next weekend. I am looking for any "tricks of the trade" from those of you that have already done this. Is upholstory (spelling) spray glue needed? Etc. Appreciate any helpful information that anyone can provide. Thanks........Bruce

i finished my 85's re-carpet several months ago, also with willcox's ACC carpet set. the only pieces glued were the console sides, and the under dash pieces. everything else, pretty much just lays in place. from my (limited) experience, installation went fairly smooth - very little trimming, etc. one area i had a bit of trouble with was the cargo mat, where it tucks up under the rear hatch trim. it seems that someone at the factory cut it a bit short, but i was able to work around the issue. also, be careful cutting the RH/LH rear inner fender sections where the "glass" top receivers go. the plastic trim pieces do not allow for much error. you shouldn't have any trouble overall, just take your time - work one section or piece for the best fit.

, Ive done my '84 before... and a hair dryer will help a lot. It is great for taking off the old glue and for molding the new carpet better.
You should take the carpet set out of the box now…. Put it in a warm place and it will re-take the molded shape that it had before it was packaged. This will allow for a much easier install. (Best results come from sitting it in the sunlight, unfortunately for and us both, we don’t have the luxury of much sun this time of the year!)
When trimming carpet, remember to always trim from the back edge and not the front side!

Can you recommend a glue for the knee bolsters and console sides? I used some 3M stuff (770 spray adhesive, or something like that)and it just is not holding very well.
Moserbe, I agree with the previous posts, it is not too technically difficult. Patience when trimming wil go a long way to perfecting the install. Are you replacing the underlayment?
