I know this sounds stupid, but I was having a conversation with a guy the other day, and he was thinking the starter on my 89 coupe might be inside the engine. Thought he was crazy, but is there such a thing as this ?

The starter motor is on the right rear of the engine ahead of the bell housing......OUTSIDE the engine.

ZR 1 has the starter under the intake. Maybe he heard some reference to that. Could be misleading.
