Default Drag Racing / Oil Changes

Hi all,

I've read before that the 'oil change' light will come on after the computer detects a certain amount of RPMs after the last time you reset the light.

I reset the light a couple months ago, (less than 2000 miles ago) and it popped back on yesterday.

Should I just go ahead and change the oil, or should I reset the light and go by miles only?

I'm thinking I'm going to change the oil when the car tells me, and just use the oil change light as my reminder, and I can ignore how long/how many miles in between oil changes... anyone else do this?

Most of us change oil between 3000 and 5000 miles, even though the "change oil" light rarely comes on by then.

According to the user's manual, the C4 uses oil temp and engine rpm to calculate when the oil needs changing.

If you reset this feature the last time you changed oil, I'd change the oil....regardless if you only have 2000 miles on it.

Drag racing would certainly fit my definition of "severe duty"

Sounds logical to me... small price to pay to drag race it, to change the oil a little more often
