"Slipping" headlight
About a year ago my driver's side headlamp started slipping when turned on or off. I can manually turn it with my hand and 'lock' it into place. After research here and other places I purchased the Delrin bushings from Eckler's. I took the assembly apart to discover the OEM bushings looked fine, no chalky residue. Since all was apart I went ahead and put the new bushings in. Not surprised, it did not help at all. What else do I need to look for? The motor appears to be OK as it it continue to spin a few seconds after the headlamp gets stuck. I checked the gear teeth, they appear to be OK.
About a year before this happened, I purchased glass sealed beams for both sides. I did not realize until I replaced the OEM lights, that they were plastic and considerably lighter. Could this extra weight be the cause of the problem? The passenger side continues to work fine.
Thanks in advance for your help.
