Do you know what the elevation of the track you ran at was? That could be part of it. :) You should definitely be at least in the 14s. What RPM did you launch at? Did you leave the car in D or OD? It is better to drag race in D. Did you have any wheelspin? If you post your entire timeslip, we'll try to help you. :) But... you should at LEAST be trapping I would say around 14.4 @ 96mph. With over 100k miles like me, you might be looking at clogged catalytic convertors or something. I ran a 14.6 my first time out. I then found out that my main cat was clogged. I replaced it with an OEM replacement and ran 14.07 the next time out. :) It made a huge difference.
I ran a best time of 14.481 near-stock on a 2.59 rear.
My guess is the same as Scorp's, check your cat.
elevation here is about 1300 ft.
on my best run i ran
60ft, 2.249
660 9.780
ET 15.146
MPH ?
dont know if there was wheel spin or not-- truck in the other lane was farking loud. ran 10.xxx
I power broke it to 1300 rpm.
I shhifted from D to (D) at 53 mph. this resulted in a different gear on the next computer shift. had 18 lbs in the tires.
2nd fastest run was as follows
60--- 2.259
660-- 9.814
ET--- 15.183
MPH-- 90.040
1300' elevation is part of it, but I don't think THAT much. I know people in Colorado that are running a bit better than that and they are a mile high.
A quick trip to a muffler shop for a backpressure check could tell you if the cat was clogged. I finally knew mine was busted when the peices inside broke apart and were rattling around making noise. Otherwise I probably wouldn't of known.
Also, if you have the ability, you might want to check the timing of your car. 6 degrees is stock, about 8 to 8.5 degrees is "optimal".
