Are there any links you guys can throw at me? I have mass backed carpet to replace in my 91 vert, but then send the carpeting with a fair amount of cutting needing to be done, and i wont lie - i'm a little nervous about it.
Some helpful tips, online instructions would be fantastic!
Just replaced the carpeting in our 85 with the Willcox mass back carpet kit. Made only a couple of small cuts, it fit with little problem. Just take your time. I highly recommend the ACC carpet kit.

OMG CC...I thought that thing was gone forever! You just had to save the pics??? I understand....it's...um...hot? Well thought out? What's the word I am looking for here? Unique? No....disgusting? There it is!!! And worth every penny of 30K!!!!
The best suggestion of all is to take the carpet out box and put it out in the sunlight! This will allow it to re-take the molded form.
You can use 3M fast tack trim adhesive in places where you need to glue it. Use this like you would contact cement. Spray on the back of the carpet and let it dry, spray it on the area to be glued and let it dry, the spray a good coat on before you place the section down. Most local parts house’s carry it. I believe the part number is 08084 or 08088.
Always cut your carpet set from the back side and test fit before you ever put any glue. On some years where you have to remove the old sill plate carpet, we’ll good luck. This carpet is glued on with wicked GM glue! There are also tiny staples in the carpet as well as in the outer bead that trims out the carpet. (on cars like 84-85-86 et.)
It’s always a good idea to trim on the parts that can be removed from the car after they are glued. Use the part for the edge and cut from the back side.

I have just begun the carpet replacement job on my 89.
Am awaiting delivery of the foil back rubber sound deadener material ordered from Stock Interiors.com before I can proceed.
Removal of the door carpet that is glued on with some type of hot glue can be a bear as it was on the first door. I learned that using a heat gun makes the job much quicker and neater. Be careful as these guns can melt things that you don't want melted if you overheat areas.
Heat a corner of the carpet surface and peel back enough to grab hold of and continue to heat the surface area you are working on (not too hot), avoiding heating the plastic door panel above.
As you peel the carpet off, direct the heat between the carpet and the glue and continue the process until the carpet is removed.
You might as well replace the shift boot while you have the console removed! Mine is from RedlineGoods.com.
Best of luck with the project. Be sure to take before and after pics so you can fully appreciate the difference new carpeting makes.
