i replied to your PM I did not use a clear coat, I think it would affect the apperance of the semi flat, unless you could get a semi flat clear.
it is holding up very well. and is a dead match for the factory rubber coating. all for about 4 bucks

I havn't decided yet if I should get something for a base coat or if I should seal it with a clear.
When I did my '90, I sanded it down to the plastic, as it had some deep scratches on the door. I used a primer, then lightly sanded it down, and gave it two coats. I turned out great, and I may cover it w/ some clear when I take it out to install the Hurst shifter.
