I am new to the world of auto mechanics. just purchased a '94 LT-1, and wanted to find an invaluable guide to taking apart and rebulding my lt-1 engine...any help or ideas would be beneficial..I gotta start somewhere!

Do have a lot of tools? Take a engine class at your local community college or vo-tech. Most will let you work on your own stuff and they provide the tools you may not have. The other advantage is you have someone to ask questions and check your work.

Go here. Their books are excellent. HP books are good also. Think long and hard about a Vo-Tech course or as a minimum have someone who knows what they are doing with you at every step. Rebuilding an engine isn't hard but there are many, many places you can go wrong.

I think I'd start with something smaller.
Books are great, but experience is better.
