On my 93 when I close my passenger’s door with the window all the way up the corner of the window rubs the paint near the roof a little just before the door closes.
Is there some kind of adjustment to the window or door I can do to fix this?
Thanks!
sounds like the glass might have slipped. It is adjustable all 4 directions. Pull the door panels to get to the glass. b4 you loosen the glass, mark the original positions for reference.
The front stop/guide is either broken or out of adj. When the window goes up, the front keeps going "camming the window on the rear stop. This causes the rear upper corner of the window to hit the piller post. VERY common problem on C-4's with the plastic guide/stop. The part is still available at GM for about $25 if it's broken, and each side is different.
The FSM describes in very good detail adjustment of the window mechanism. Without seeing the car, it's tough to say if you need to adjust the window, the door, or both. Doors sag with age, not ride up, so my guess it that you need to adjust the window.
It's really pretty simple on the 90ups, there are hidden screws under the lamp and thedoor lock switch, and sometimes under the power window switch on the pass side (it just prys up and out). Just remove all the screws (94 up uses plastic connectors/plugs on the perimeter), and carefully remove the panel, carefully disconnecting the connectors (they can get brittle). The drivers side switches just pry up after removing the two screws in the well. Slow and carefull and you should have no problem.
