HELP: Interior lights won't work
My Dad has an 84 and lately, the interior lights won't work at all. I checked the usual fuses and all are fine...so here are the symptoms:
- when you open the door, the lights don't come on
- when you push the map light in on the door, it doesn't come on
- when you turn the headlight switch to the left, the lights don't come on
I sold my 86 so I don't have my dealer manuals anymore. He's coming over in the morning to check things out one more time...is there anything I'm missing???
burnt out bulbs, blown fuse, sticking door light switch/ blown door light switch.
That's all that comes to my mind at the moment.
Check the door light switches, there's one on the door itself at the back and one higher up on the door sill where the door closes and see if those are pushed in and stuck.
Something else to look at:
There's an automatic light dimmer switch under the r/f hush panel. Your interior lights go through this circuit and if it's bad-no workee.

Thanks for the feedback guys...here's the latest. Got the interior lights to work when:
1) you turn them on by turning the headlight switch to the left
2) map lights in doors work when the lense is pressed
The only thing that DOESN't work now is the interior lights when you open the door...read something about a Courtesy Light Delay Timer...anyone change one of these? Could that be the culprit?
